www.davidrumsey.com/index.html. Zoom around the world viewing historical maps. There are several types of viewers: Insight Viewer, using your browser; a Java type browser, and special GIS Browser that allows detailed overlays of historical maps and current geospatial data.

Using the Insight Viewer, I searched on Virginia. Here are two examples:

The Internet Archive, http://www.archive.org/index.html, hosts many of the older materials from the web and beyond. Under movies, 6 1/2 Magic Hours ca. 1958, is a movie - infomercial - of the first jet clipper flight across the Atlantic. A Pan American jet clipper left Idylwild, now JFK, in New York for London. The flight with tail winds took 6.5 hours, 7 hours to Paris - not much difference today, unless you can afford the Concorde. Interesting site!

Where does Window's ProductId get stored?

Often one looses the ProductID if it is not on the CD itself. Open the Registry by going to START-RUN and entering REGEDIT and Navigate to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion]. In right pane, look for key by the name "ProductId". This is your Windows Product Id. Alternatively you can go to Start, Run, Regedit, and enter ProductID in the Edit, Find drop down menu.
